چکیده

Excitonic effects in optical spectra and electron-hole pair excitations are described by solutions of the Bethe-Salpeter equation BSE that accounts for the Coulomb interaction of excited electron-hole pairs. Although for the computation of excitonic optical spectra in an extended frequency range efficient methods are available, the determination and analysis of individual exciton states still requires the diagonalization of the

Halogenated Graphdiyne and Graphyne Single Layers: A Systematic Study

Graphyne and graphdiyne families of flat carbon (sp2/sp) networks with high degrees of π-conjunction are attracting much attention due to their promising electronic, optical, and mechanical properties. In the present investigation we have studied the structural, mechanical, electrical and optical properties of halogenated graphdiyne and graphyne. The optical spectra of pure and halog...

We consider Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equation for the bound state of two point particles in the non-commutative space-time. We subsequently explore the BS equation for spin0-spin0, spin1/2-spin1/2 and spin0-spin1/2 bound states. we show that the lowest order spin independent correction to energy spectrum in each case is of the order θ a 4 while the spin dependent one in NC space, is started at the ...

qq̄ BOUND STATES IN THE BETHE-SALPETER FORMALISM

We solve the Bethe-Salpeter equation in order to determine the spectrum of pseudoscalar and vector meson bound states for light as well as heavy quarks. The fermion propagators are obtained by solving the Schwinger-Dyson equation consistently with the Bethe-Salpeter equation, a procedure necessary for demonstrating the Goldstone nature of the pion in the chiral limit. Our results agree qualitat...

Solving the Bethe-Salpeter equation for bound states of scalar theories in Minkowski space

We apply the perturbation theory integral representation (PTIR) to solve for the bound state Bethe-Salpeter (BS) vertex for an arbitrary scattering kernel, without the need for any Wick rotation. The results derived are applicable to any scalar field theory (without derivative coupling). It is shown that solving directly for the BS vertex, rather than the BS amplitude, has several major advanta...

Interplay of excitonic effects and van Hove singularities in optical spectra: CaO and AlN polymorphs

The quasiparticle band structures and fundamental energy gaps of the rock-salt (rs), zinc-blende (zb), and wurtzite (wz) polymorphs of CaO and AlN are calculated within the G0W0 approximation on top of a selfconsistent solution of the generalized Kohn–Sham equation with the hybrid functional HSE03. Based on these reliable electronic structures, the dielectric functions of rs-CaO, zb-AlN, and wz...
